Content Awards Nominations for Coolbox X ITV Collabs

Well, what a lovely bit of news! We’ve just been informed that, not one, BUT TWO of our recent video collaborations with ITV have been nominated at this year’s UK Content Awards.

Identity Stories by Coronation Street has been nominated for CONTENT STRATEGY OF THE YEAR.

Identity Stories by Coronation Street has been nominated for CONTENT STRATEGY OF THE YEAR

Following on from Coronation Street’s hard hitting hate crime storyline we asked the young actors to come together for a one-off film to discuss the huge impact of the story.

Identity Stories sees Mollie Gallagher, Maximus Evans, Tanisha Gorey and Millie Gibson join musician and mental health advocate Dani Winter-Bates to reflect on the challenging topics that the episodes addressed.

Revisiting Nina, Corey, Asha and Kelly’s storylines the conversation explores attitudes towards mental health, coercive control, social media, self-expression and identity.

As the actors relate their on screen portrayals of hate crime to real life the discussion turns to mental health and wellbeing, what they’ve learnt about identity, the importance of self expression and their hopes for the future in regards to a greater understanding of the issue and tolerance in general.

Previously the campaign had been nominated for FOUR NORTHERN DIGITAL AWARDS; Best Use of Social Media, Best Use of Video, Best Integrated Campaign and Best Low Budget Campaign.

Our second project with ITV; Off the Table (Good Morning Britain) has been shortlisted for the UK Content Awards’ VIDEO CONTENT CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR.

Behind the scenes in London, filming for ITV's Off the Table

Coolbox worked closely with the ITV Digital Content team to produce Good Morning Britain’s first ever YouTube original series, ‘Off The Table’ – a brand new mini series which takes the heart of the award winning breakfast show to 18-34s and does what it does best, help shape the nation’s conversations.

The new series presented by TV broadcaster and cultural curator Julie Adenuga (MTV Cribs UK, Don’t Trust The Internet) will feature four hot topic 15 minute episodes which will be published across a month, including money, climate change, cancel culture and life after Covid – some of the most important issues affecting 18-34s in modern Britain today.

The Coolbox crew and ITV Creative team shot the first four episodes across two days, in a beautiful East London studio last month. You can see the episodes now on GMB’s YouTube channel.
